This Happens Often... NOT!

I dashed up the highway to make drops at each daughters residence. Things they MUST have now. I'm a good sport. To my surprise, they were free at the same time. More like they were hungry for some decent food and mom was in town for an hour. Time for some "bonding"! An hour of bliss for all three of us. Their tummies are full and so is my heart. (boy is this pic not so good)

Nice to know my girls love me and want to spend time with their mama. Glad their manners have remained intact while becoming the independent women that they are now.

Many congrats to DQ for graduating.
Love the pics of your girls.

I might have to delay the Kangas for another month - I am having some more financial issues that will hopefully be sorted out by next month. I am So sorry about that. I will get you them though along with some other goodies I can think of. You will just have to be patient with me!!

Ahhh, the supply trips from Mom! Mine would always bring chocolate cake or cookies, homemade summer sausage, and chips! What'd I bring her? Laundry, of course!

Looks like you had a great time! Gimme some time with the second picture and I'll have figured out what you girls had for lunch :) I'll be eager to see how quickly Blondie requests the picture to be pulled before it shows up on campus...

Have a great weekend, Sue!

So happy to see that your girls got to have a fun reunion of sorts...

Thank you for your comment. CURSE you??!! More like I want to give you the biggest bear hug ever!! Don't apologize for what you said, it's exactly what I need to hear, sometimes multiple times a day. That's kinda been our little mantra over here, mom's really needed to hear it, that it's temporary. We like to phrase is in U2ish "It's just a moment, this time will pass". We're actually doing really well, considering. Very optimistic, we know we are strong and we all have amazing support systems. As for the taking care of mom, should she need it, it will be done by family. We're holding off on doing anything drastic until her first session, once she gets a feel for it, but we've got a basic plan worked out. She's even planning to work though it (she luckily works from home already). If needed, I'm going to take the family leave in late November or December. I have the most generous employer in the Bay Area and I could live pretty ok with what they offer. Just another thing we're really lucky for. We're going to be ok, my mom's a rock, and I just figure this is my chance to repay her for some of that raising she did for me. :)

So much to say--damn this working thing it keeps me from visiting as much as I would like. That, and my husband--can you BELIEVE that he wants to, like, spend time with me? I am happy for DQ, but I completely understand your guarded optimism. I have seen the ups and downs of addicts before and I know that it is usually not a straight shot to the top.

Have you ever gone to Al-anon meetings or similar? A family that I know is having serious issues with their 18-year-old and mainly I see them buying her crap-lies more than they should. She's a former addict and I'm thinking maybe she's not completely kicked the habit. I think they need to be with others, so they can figure out how to be strong. Any suggestions? Sorry to bother you with this, but you're the only person I thought would know.

What a moment to treasure. And you have pictures to prove it. Even if it was only and "hour of bliss" I am sure it was time that you can always hold in your heart.

I also have two daughters and not much (not including pics of Baby Jack or The Princess) brings a smile to my face faster than seeing them having fun and enjoying each other's company.
Your girls are beautiful.
I'm so glad you got pics for all to see.
