Where Does The Time Go!

Wow. Guess I've been missing in action. Life has been keeping me very busy. I thought life would slow down once the girls got older, but the opposite seems to have happened. DQ had a beautiful baby girl the end of March! Her name is Nadia. She is an angel. DQ was with us for a month and then went back to Arkansas. It doesn't look like Arkansas is going to work as we had all hoped. The people running the Maternity Home don't really know what they are doing. It is really too bad because a place like that is so desperately needed. They have no idea how to relate to or deal with girls in the situation DQ is dealing with now. It's frustrating because we cannot say anything now for fear they will put DQ and Nadia out on the street. It really is a sad situation down there.

Anyway, Blondie is a senior at KU, but will not graduate for another semester. She is doing fabulous and working her tail off. We are not sure where she will end up after graduation, but she would really like to move to Dallas. I guess we'll see about that. I'm not sure how I'll handle it if she moves further than 20 minutes from me. I'm trying to prepare myself now.

So much has been going on with hubby also. They have quite a few 'gigs' for the summer already booked! They are a great bar band, but sorry, nothing to share yet. I hope to take pictures at the next appearance. Dweeb actually had two jobs for pretty much our entire married life. Full time doc and part time administrative. Recently the administrative job he held was discontinued. Yikes was my first reaction. But, for the first time since he was a college student, he is not working 6-7 days a week. It's almost as if he is semi-retired now! It will be interesting to see if he starts walking circles around the house soon. His music is blooming though, with the extra time! He deserves the break for sure.

Okay, also included here are pics. Picture of little Nadia and the trips and Jack (all are growing like little weeds!)

Thank you all for your comments and emails! It's so nice to know I was missed! I will try to get around when I have time to actually surf the net. Holy cow, can't forget! My Texas Tornado (who is a star T Ball player now) is coming for a few days to visit in June!

I'm so happy to hear everything is going well for you and your family! I was starting to get a little worried!! DQ's baby is a beauty. Sorry to hear things aren't going so great for her down in Arkansas, does she have any other options?

The picture of the trips with the one girl's arms around the other two kind looks like she's ready to push them off the wall and into the water...lol. :)

Hope everything is going well for YOU, too.

@sarah: such a devious little mind from an only child! haha. Sometimes they do knock each other off of walls, but this day Abby was a mother hen.

@Jen: Aww, you are too sweet. So great to hear from you! That first pic is one of my favorites. They are such a kick to be around!

Your new granddaughter is beautiful. Why does the system have to fail those who need it most?

I have been thinking of you a lot and hoping that things had gone well for DQ and baby and ofcourse the rest of the family.

It sounds liek things are as crazy as ever in your world. I have missed you and am praying that things turn around for DQ.

Hugs and blessings,
Sabine

Glad to have you back . . . congrats on Nadia. All the pics are beautiful. Let me know how the semi retirement thing works for Dweeb . . . Hubby is going to be semi-retired in June.

So wonderful to finally hear from you, Sue! I will add DQ to my prayers. It has been so long since you added much. How are you doing with the migraines? How about the photography school? Inquiring minds want to know ;)

What a relief to sign in and find an entry!

Face it, Sue, our kids diaperhood was the easiest time we ever had! Hold them, feed the, change them. Only place we had to get them was to the Dr. every few months . . . Now, even the oldest ones keep me running - after THEIR kids. It'll never slow down!

Be sure and let me know if Dweeb's band ever books at "The Jolly Troll". We'll know he's 'made it' then. lol

So good to hear from you!

Congratulations on the precious baby! You must be so proud!! I'm sorry things aren't working out for DQ where she is staying, I hope something changes or something better comes along soon.

Dallas isn't so bad- if you guys ever come to visit, please let me know and we can meet for lunch!

Take care,
Katie

So glad you are back. I have really been missing you and wondering about DQ. I was pretty sure though that you were probably busy with the new little one. Congrats to all. I will pray that things work out for DQ as we would all hate for all of her hard work this time to go down the drain.

Keep us posted.

That first picture is priceless! It's just like something you'd find in a store picture frame. Only I'd keep it and throw away the crappy pictures I take. Nice work!

And great news about the rest of the fam! Enjoy them first and share what you have with us.

BTW: Today was 2 for Tuesday on one of the local radio stations. They played 2 by Tom Petty and I immediately thought of you :)
